Nursery
Walk through the home of a wide variety of endemic flora
The Xel-Há Nursery is home to a wide variety of native plants. Our Nursery is based on projects for the conservation of the vegetation of this nature reserve, as well as endangered species. All of the Xel-Há Nursery plants have a historical value dating back to ancient local culture, and are of vital importance nowadays to the communities in the Yucatan Peninsula.
Xel-Há is home to more than 270 species of plants, many of which are threatened by deforestation because of urban development, and the exploitation of their valuable resources. Xel-Há has a firm policy of relocation for the development of the buildings and structures so that it will not affect the vegetation. Also, carefully measures the environmental impact of each project to preserve our Natural Wonder for future generations. The Nursery is an outdoor botanical garden that hosts a huge variety of native vegetation. Once the plants reach a competent size, they are relocated to the vast jungle of Xel-Há.
